Hi, nice to e-meet you!
My name is Christy Try and I have been in the healthcare industry for over 15 years. I worked at Kaiser Permanente for many years and that’s when I learned about electrolysis and the need for it. Electrolysis can treat various medical conditions and help patients with lifelong issues. My background was in patient care in general and plastic surgery. While working in those departments, I learned about patients who suffer with ingrown hair that can progress into conditions like pilonidal cysts and hidradenitis that, when allowed to progress, may require surgery. I was also involved in presurgical hair removal for patients who need gender affirming surgery. I realized that the need for electrolysis services is great. Unfortunately, there just aren’t enough electrologists in the Bay Area to help everyone. In fact, most electrologists have a waitlist of greater than 3 months! So I went back to school to expand my skillset in order to serve these patients. In addition to patients who have a medical need for hair removal, I am pleased to serve those who choose it for cosmetic reasons. I myself have undergone cosmetic procedures and I am in full support of making you feel your best self! Professional hair removal can not only alleviate a problem but can also boost self-esteem and confidence and support mental health. My goal is to make you feel your best in your own skin. I can’t wait to be a part of your journey
What to expect at your first visit
We are excited that you took the leap of faith in entering this journey. We will ask you what you would like to accomplish and complete a full assessment of your skin and hair type to come up with the most effective plan to accomplish your wishes.
We will go over your intake form in depth to carefully review your medical history.
After our full assessment of your skin and hair type we will go over what the best options are and what fits within your budget.
We will ask you to refrain tweezing, threading and waxing immediately. These forms of hair removal interrupt the growth cycle. Shaving is appropriate and will not interrupt the hair growth cycle. If you're concerned about shaving because of the myth that hairs will grow back faster/thicker. I’m here to ease that fear and assure you that is false! We will ask that you shave the treatment area 3-4 days before your first visit so that we can treat the hairs that are in the active growth cycle. The hairs that emerge after 3-4 days are active and perfect for treatment.
It is very important to stay hydrated for your appointment so if you don’t regularly drink half your body weight in ounces daily, please start now. It’s not only great for your overall health but it is very important for your treatment.
Your first visit we will block out one hour, depending on how many questions you have we can go over the consultation as long as you’d like. Most clients will elect to have 30 minutes of treatment directly after the consultation. A minimum of 30 minutes will be billed for your first visit with the consultation portion being free.
At the end of your treatment comes the reward, we will use cataphoresis, a metal pole to massage and soothe the treated area. This is usually the client’s favorite part of the treatment.
We will conclude the treatment with scheduling your next visit. This process takes commitment to be effective in the most cost effective manner as possible.
